Swim Team

Swim Team wants you!!!!  Join the Orange Hunt Sharks for the 2012 season and have a blast.  Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced swimmer, the Orange Hunt Swim Team is a great way to spend your summer.   This will be our 42nd year of offering 4 to 18 year olds in our community a fun filled summer.  Swim team is a wonderful option to keep your children both physically and socially active during the summer months.   Take a splash with the swim team this summer!!

We have a fantastic coaching staff.  Our Head Coach, Chris Natoli, is returning for his 9th year at Orange Hunt.  He is an accomplished former NVSL and George Mason University swimmer; and coaches at  a year round USA Swimming affiliated club.  We are pleased that our kids get the benefits of a professional coach plus the fun of summer swim.  Both of our Assistant Coaches are former Orange Hunt swimmers.  They are Alex Spina who swims for the University of Maryland and Zachary Fountain who swims for Indiana University of Pennsylvania.    We also have 2 swimmer coaches who will swim for the team and coach.   Michelle Hogan swims for Pacific Lutheran University .  Caroline Fountain swims for West Springfield HS.  Kim Spina is returning as the Mini Shark Coach.  Kim is also a year round USA Swimming coach specializing in younger swimmers.  As you can see we have an awesome coaching staff that is looking forward to working with our returning swimmers and meeting new Shark.

For more info contact the team reps,  Anne McEvoy, Krystee Dryer and Cindy Agner at swimteam@orangehuntswimclub.org.

SOCIALS
The swim team hosts numerous socials including Friday night pep rallies, pancake breakfasts, and bowling outings. Your kids will have a pleasantly full calendar through the end of July, and our social activities are open to the entire family.

• 1st Swimmer $105
• 2nd Swimmer $80
• 3rd Swimmer or additional $55

Bring your check book to registration. You will be asked to write 3 checks: one for registration, the second for volunteer fee (not cashed until the end of the season) and third to purchase a team suit which is optional.  We will be using the same swim suit design as last year.

VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENTS
Each swim team family is required to volunteer 6 times in order to wave the volunteer fee. The volunteer fee check is cashed at the end of the season for families that do not volunteer the required 6 times. Don’t worry. Knowledge of the sport is not necessary when volunteering. It takes over 25 parents to run a meet. Volunteer opportunities are as varied as being a timer, to working a pancake breakfast to writing ribbons. You’ll find it’s a good opportunity to meet some of your fellow neighbors. Bring your calendar to registration, or go to our online volunteer signups, so you can sign up for volunteer spots.

We hope you take the plunge and become a member of the Orange Hunt Shark family this summer.
